An intimate premium enclave between Bang Tao and Kamala: a short “house” beach, hillsides of view villas and one of the island’s priciest coastal strips.
A calm family bay with the Millionaires’ Mile on its southern cliffs: branded residences, sunset views and 10 minutes to Patong.
Surin is a small, statusy area between Bang Tao and Kamala. It was once dubbed “Millionaires’ beach” for hillsides carrying villas of Amanpuri and The Surin calibre. After the illegal beach clubs were cleared, Surin became quieter and cleaner: today it is calm premium without mass tourism — with Boat Avenue and all of Bang Tao’s infrastructure 7–10 minutes away.
Surin beach is a short (about 800 m) arc of white sand with a quick drop-off; high-season water is crystal clear, low season can bring waves and currents. Next door — the intimate Pansea bay by The Surin hotel and 8-kilometre Bang Tao 5–7 minutes away.
Kamala is the transition between the quiet north and touristy Patong: a wide family bay, a village rhythm in the centre and the Millionaires’ Mile on the southern slopes — a coastal road with some of Asia’s most expensive villas and branded residences. Café del Mar runs here and the MontAzure cluster grew here too. People choose Kamala for balance: a calm beach with all of Patong’s infrastructure 10 minutes away.
Kamala beach is about 2 km of soft sand with a gentle entry; to the north lies quiet Laem Sing cove (reachable by water or trail). The sea is calm November–April; low season brings waves — swimmers head to sheltered beaches. Patong and Surin are 10 minutes in either direction.
Surin’s audience is returning guests of expensive hotels and villa renters: cheques above the island average, marked seasonality. Sea-view units within walking distance of the beach rent for more than Bang Tao equivalents, but the supply pool is smaller — picking the right format matters.
Kamala draws a family and mature audience, winterers and branded-residence guests. Peak is November–April; beachside and bay-view units hold above-average rates. Patong next door widens the short-stay tenant pool without its noise.
